Getting Started

After activating your Match WordPress theme, visit the Customizer to set up the basic theme settings, such as background color, custom header, site logo, or custom menu.

Required Plugin

Jetpack is required plugin for Match WordPress theme. Jetpack is comprehensive and free plugin by WordPress.com which provides several features under one roof. You need to install and activate the Jetpack plugin in order to use the supported modules.

Front Page Setup

  • Create or Edit a page, and assign it to the Front Page template from the Page Attributes module.
  • Go to Settings → Reading and set Front page displays to A static page.
  • Select the page you just assigned the Front Page template to as Front page and then choose another page as Posts page to serve your blog posts.
  • Make sure you add a featured image (1920×750) to your front page. This image will replace default custom header of theme.

Post & Page Featured Image Header Setup

Make sure you add a featured image with the minimum dimension (1920×750) in pixels to your page or post to replace default custom header of theme.

Bridesmaids Page Setup

  • Create or edit a page, and assign it to the Bridesmaid Page template from the Page Attributes module. This placeholder page will be used to display content and thumbnail image for each of the child pages (aka sub-pages) you’ll create next.
  • Create additional pages that you want to show on the Bridesmaid page you’ve just created above. In the Page Attributes box on each child page, select the Bridesmaid page you created above as the parent page.
  • For the best result, make sure you add a featured images to each child page, so it’ll be displayed along with the content.

Groomsmen Page Setup

  • Create or edit a page, and assign it to the Groomsmen Page template from the Page Attributes module. This placeholder page will be used to display content and thumbnail image for each of the child pages (aka sub-pages) you’ll create next.
  • Create additional pages that you want to show on the Groomsmen page you’ve just created above. In the Page Attributes box on each child page, select the Groomsmen page you created above as the parent page.
  • For the best result, make sure you add a featured images to each child page, so it’ll be displayed along with the content.

Site Logo

Go to Customizer → Site Title, Tagline & Logo to add your site logo.

Theme Options

You’ll find Match’s theme options in the Customizer, under Customizer → Theme Options.

General Options

You’ll find Match’s general options in the Customizer, under Customizer → Theme Options → General Options.

1. Theme Layout

Use Match‘s wide style or personalize it with beautiful backgrounds using the boxed style.

Wide Style
Match will cover the full screen width in wide-layout mode. Any background color or background image will not be visible using wide-layout mode.

Box Style
Match will wrap the content in a box. This option is best if you want to use a background color or background image for your website.

2. Blog Layout

Match displays the main sidebar on the right or left side, or you can use blog layout without sidebar.

3. Social Media Links

Match theme provides popular social media sites. Icons of these sites will appear in the footer of Match WordPress theme.

Frontpage Options

You’ll find Match’s frontpage options in the Customizer, under Customizer → Theme Options → Frontpage Options.

Note: Frontpage options will only be activated when the front page is being viewed in the Customizer.

1 & 2. Wedding Card Caption / Wedding Card Tagline

You can personalize these messages to display on the front page.

3 & 4. Bride and Bridegroom Page

  • Create or Edit a page to display information of Bride
  • Make sure you add a featured image of Bride
  • Repeat the above two steps to create a page of Bridegroom
  • Select the Bride and Bridegroom page from the drop down menus
  • Save Changes

5,6,7 & 8. Wedding Counter Setup

Use these options to display counter on the front page.

Skin Options

You’ll find Match’s skin options in the Customizer, under Customizer → Theme Options → Skin Options.

1. Primary Color

Use Match‘s primary color to personalize it with your favorite color.

2. Secondary Color

Use Match‘s secondary color to personalize it with your favorite font.

Fonts Options

You’ll find Match’s fonts options in the Customizer, under Customizer → Theme Options → Fonts Options.

1. Headings Font

Use Match‘s headings font to personalize it with your favorite font.

2. Body Font

Use Match‘s body font to personalize it with your favorite font.

Featured Images

Match supports Featured Images on blog posts and pages. They appear near the title on the blog index and archive pages. For best results, use an image at least 1920px wide and 750px high.

If you upload larger Featured Images or images with different proportions, they will be automatically resized to match the required dimensions.

Add a Custom Header Image

Add a Custom Header image by going to Customizer → Header. Your uploaded image should be at least 750px tall. The width should be at least 1920px to provide a visually crisp look.

Add a Custom Background Image or Color

Add a Custom Background via Customizer → Background. You must choose the Box Layout in the Customizer’s Theme Options area to see background colors or images.

Custom Menus

Match allows you to have one Custom Menus, which can be set under Customizer → Menus.

Select the Primary Menu location in the Menu Settings to display your Custom Menu in the header.

Widget Areas

Match comes with five widget areas: one in the sidebar, and up to four in the footer. The footer widget areas will activate once you add widgets to them in Customizer → Widgets.

Match: Icon List

The Icon List widget displays regular list with beautiful icons. You can use Font Awesome icon codes to display icons.
